My design is an interpretation of his work in its most deconstructed form. As I analyzed his work two things stood out to me, first his incorporation of interaction between person and structure, second his awareness and incorporation of his environment. My piece incorporates both. My design's deconstruction resembles the rawness that he gives to his work. For me, that meant trying to translate shapes to its simplest form. Also the movement of the shapes falling into place creating the image of the building brings in that sense of movement and interaction. Much like how Kundig approaches his work to find a balance between his environment and his building, I had to find a way to incorporate my initial design with type as well as color. His color palettes are inspired by his surroundings as well as the materials he uses. I was able to create an earthy, neutral color palette that came directly from his work. As for the type, a san-serif, bold type for his name grounded the piece together and a lighter type for the other information allows for a sense of hierarchy for the reader. For the color and placement of the text, I played with bringing back the colors of the design as well as making elements interact to incorporate one into the other.
